Music Social Networks for Bands and Music Social Networks for Listeners are often one and the same site, but there are better social networks strictly for the artist, group, or musician (even Photographer, Sketch Artist, and Painter, Dancer, or Fine Arts Preformers :). The “fan” sites are (without question) a very good place to set up an artist profile to be certain your newest fans can find you. Be sure to include the URL’s to all your other blogs and social networks on each of the sites you have so fans can find more about your sound, art, and expression ๐Ÿ™‚

To get more tips, sites, and suggestions on Music Social Networks for Bands listen into one of our Blogs and Social Networks Show on Music Sites ๐Ÿ™‚

Tonight’s show was great and we covered the best for Christmas graphics, layouts, and comments that we found on the net! Listen in for many tips on what sites house which type or theme of Christmas graphic, layout, comments, and all the extras like countdowns, dividers, fluff and bling.

MyGirlySpace

MyGirlySpace

My favorite of the sites we covered tonight is MyGirlySpace.com. With the animated graphics, Christmas MySpace animations, Christmas banners, mini banners, funny pics, icon collages, MySpace icons, posters, non animated graphics, dividers, glitter graphics, dolls, falling snowflakes (neato!, WordPress is using this here on the log in news page :), and Christmas music.

At My Girly Space, there are codes 1.0 layouts and also for the 2.0 CSS layouts. Great selection, easy to navigate site ๐Ÿ™‚

WonderChristmas.com is all about Christmas from backgrounds, banners, clipart, countdowns, games, and even coloring pages. Great Christian and Santa based themes here.

ABCFamily.com has the coolest of snowglobes for your sites sponsored by Glade!

LayoutsForChristmas.com

ChristmasMySpaceGraphics.com has funny videos and pics also online now.

XmasJoys.com with contact tables, about Christmas, cursors, ecards, humor, recipes, and stories.

HolidayJoys.com with animated gifs, icons, games, comments, screen captures, and wallpaper for MySpace, Friendster, and Hi5.

CoolHolidayGraphics.com also an awesome site for Christmas graphics, layouts, and comments.

Sparkle Tags

Sparkle Tags

SparkleTags.com with over 46 pages of comment graphics you can actually vote on!

MyHotComments.com R U looking for Christmas Betty Boop? Look no further than My Hot Comments. They are ready for MySpace 2.0 as well.

PopDarts.com selection of snowglobes and Christmas graphics is fairly large but the interaction with Gigya.com (the easy tool for posting on MySpace, Friendster, Bebo, Orkut, Facebook, Tagged, Blogger, Hi5, Live Spaces, Piczo, FreeWebs, Live journal, Black Planet, My Yearbook, WordPress, Vox, Typepad, Xanga, Page Flakes, Muliply, iGoogle, Net Vibes, and MiGente) is a huge draw to this site. Now, Wavecritter (my Mom), tried the embed code directly to a post at Blogger, no good there, so I would post using the Gigya system, but how easy is that? ๐Ÿ™‚

Find out more about Gigya.com by visiting the site and click on the “About” tab at the top. A great read to find out the “meat” of this site! How it works and what’s going on at Gigya. “Giving people the power to socialize and share across the web.”

My Moms very favorite siteย  is WishAFriend.com with 47 pages of christmas MySpace Layouts! Which is where she got hers for MySpace.com/Surfcritter, her writer site at MySpace (we all know she will not readily convert or change that sites layout “Remains in the Rain” at Wavecritters MySpace ๐Ÿ™‚ If you haven’t yet seen this creation, go by and visit.

Wish A Friend has ready to go preview layouts here for either 1.0 or 2.0 MySpace Christmas layouts. Wish A Friend is set up with the browser/user in mind, they keep the site clean, easy to navigate with awesome on site search area also. Be sure to add Wish a friend to your friends list over at MySpace, Friendster, Tagged, and Hi5. Easy to do directly from the Wish A friend main site. Great choices and you can’t go wrong at Wish A Friend. If you’re looking for extras like countdowns, Quotes, and surveys, they have these too as well as a click away to Portuguese and Spanish.

{November 22, 2008}   Blogs and Social Networks Last FM

Blogs and Social Networks Last FM

Looking into some of the coolest of music blogs and social networks sites we came across Last FM. With music, radio, events, and charts for top weekly artists, Last FM has a whole site feel for everything music ๐Ÿ™‚ From one of the favorites at Last FM, Jason Mraz, to Marilyn Manson, Beethoven, The Beatles, Hoobastank, and No Doubt with everything in between.

Just set up and sign up for free. Type in a few of your favorite artists (this is more important than it originally seems) because last FM will then base all your recommendations (and they are awesome!) from your list to create you a personal playlist ๐Ÿ™‚

Feel free to add to and subtract from as you go along. Click settings and a photo or other profile information, then add to your music and artist selections.

Tag adding or keyword tagging is a big draw here at Last FM. Google and other search engines eat these keywords up so be sure to tag away.

Browse events by the actual event posters (this is cool ๐Ÿ™‚ Give events shouts and see the recommended for you events. This is one of the coolest things about Last FM, they give brilliant recommendations on everything for you based on your list of artists, so be sure to include all your favorites from the start ๐Ÿ™‚

Last FM does a lot of the thinking for you really in addition to being a breeze to set up and navigate, a totally stress free way to enjoy your music.

Connect your ipod or media player to Last FM or get Last FM on your iphone. For Windows, a quick download will get you connected no worries.

Theres forums, friends, groups, contests and promotions, and (drum roll please :), wiki pages too!

Free to register, add music, and usee all the main features at Last FM and they offer promotional features that are purely optional at a minimal cost. Widgets that you can customize with your recently listed tracks, overall top tracks, top artists, change colors, and automatically add this Last FM widget to your Live Journal or Netlog pages or embed the code is also available for other sites like Blogger.

Theres a taste-o-meter widget to compare your tastes with your friends, a Bebo widget, Facebook, radio player, and quilt widget to show your top albums! Nice. Last FM has the widgets going on for sure with recommendations and much more.

Blogs and Social Networks Music Sites

Project Playlist and Humble Voice are two outstanding sites. Project Playlist has been around for some time and in my opinion is the leader in widget based, carry your music to your blog or web site, music creator list based sites ๐Ÿ™‚

Having a newer version that you can choose at Project Playlist is yet another update of the Internet Blogs and Social Networks World that I find notable. Project Playlist is now easier to navigate and now you can have your blog area to blog away about music or whatever. With 100 songs per playlist and as many separate lists as you want to take to any site via the Project Playlist HTML widgets, this sites portability and choice are hard to beat. Gain buddies, search for music by artist or title, use the pop out features of any playlist when you want to listen in, but not remain glued to the site.

Humble Voice on the other hand is still presently in Beta but watch this site grow by leaps and bounds! This is not only a music based site but an “Artist” site. A well thought out site for the “Arts” not only musicians and listeners but for photographers, videographers, writers, and “Creators” in general ๐Ÿ™‚ When creating your initial profile here at Humble Voice, you can choose between a photographer, writer, musician, videographer, artist, or other. Editing your profile is an optional detailed adventure (which I highly prize, this will give viewers a larger view of you and your work) or you can skip things and just tell a bit to keep it brief. Humble Voice has options to send messages, add friends, instant message right from the site (this will save you from having many other messaging systems open and focus more on the site you are on :), forward your profile to friends, bookmark, or block other users for privacy. Choosing photographer, muscian, artist, or writer allows you to add on multiple pages for a bit of a “web site” creation to showcase your imaginations.

See You There!

Teen Girls Radio

Teen Girls Radio

Stevie and a few of her teenage friends have been planning a Blog Talk Radio show for many months. Stevie and I have a show called Blogs and Social Networks but she and her friends wanted to do another Blog Talk Radio Show on all topics concerning Teen issues today. It is quite the hit, this show and they came up with a topic for a specific show on the Presidential Election 2008 for the United States.

With so much controversy surrounding the United States Elections, so much media opinion, celebrity endorsement, commercials informing viewers about other commercial lies, story contradictions, and misuse of authority that adults have a difficult time sorting through the rubbish to find the facts. Even then, the facts generally are just words in the end. Sometimes empty promises, sometimes intentions that later never come to fruition.

Choosing your candidate for President of the United States or your governing officials in general is an important, challenging, and research intensive job in the end. There are some adults that don’t take their votes seriously at all, some that use anger in their influence to get others to see their points, others are quite intense in their decisions, some vote like their friends or parents do, while some do not vote at all. How are the new voters of the United States then going to decipher how to vote themselves.

Yes, most high schools teach the subject of Civics and American History, but then are we leaving the “swayed opinion” of the particular teachers of these subjects to influence the youth of today? If not these opinions, then are the new eighteen year old voters going to sift through the informative commercials for the truth? Or, will they not vote at all out of frustration or just vote like their parents and friends?

Parents speaking to their children about voting as early as they would about sex, drugs, finance and of other life importances is one answer to this. Teaching children to think for themselves, to figure out who to listen to and believe, and that indeed people are sometimes truth tellers and other times speak words only to influence others, true or not, will be more beneficial for a life time than any other teachings you could impart on your children.

Speak to your youth before they turn 18, don’t wait until they come of age to vote. In order to make an informed decision, all voters need first to decide which issues are important to them before deciding which candidate should acquire their vote.

The hesitation and delay on this show for Teen Girls Radio has been a mix of all of this put together and more. Teen Girls Radio has postponed the show on the Presidential Election 2008 for a few weeks now. Their initial thoughts on the show was that they were steadfast in their decisions on who they each wanted to be new President of the United States. They realized early in the research procedure that this was not going to be as easy a show as they had originally believed. Few 18 year olds are confident in the area of politics and political discussion and were stepping a bit out of their realm. This is a brilliant example of learning as you go, incredible life lessons, taking on any task with youthful enthusiasm and youthful spirit that being 18 embodies in the World.ย  Autumn was sure she did not even wish to vote at first but after doing some research decided that her vote does count and has not definitively chosen a candidiate. Megan and Stevie are still set in their original choice of John McCain.

Being a young adult, the World opening up even further to you with new decisions and choices, new responsibilities, realizations and expectations, and the excitements and disappointments in life all coming at you at top speed can be overwhelming. Embrace the changes and live in the moments of brilliance learning along the way. Don’t ever lose yourself in the mix and create your environments of happiness and well being.
